Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I’ve commanded you, and I will be with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20

Baptism is the beginning of a lifelong journey of following Jesus.

Water poured on someone’s head while words are spoken. It sounds so simple, utterly ordinary. And yet when this ordinary water is connected with God’s word, God works a miracle. Through baptism He gives new life, forgives sins, pours out His Spirit, and enlarges His family here on earth.

It’s as if the heavens are torn open and God is beaming with pride, “You are my child, whom I love. With you I am well-pleased! I have called you by name; you are mine!” Incredible!

Since God is the one doing the work in baptism, even infants, who can’t confess faith in Jesus, are invited to receive this gift. On the other hand, if you’re an adult who’s never been baptized, why not now?

Want to follow Jesus but don’t know where to start?

Seeking to raise a son or daughter as a follower of Jesus?

Begin with baptism.

How it happens?
Prince of Peace celebrates baptisms during weekend worship services in order to share the joy of what God is doing and pray for each new brother or sister in Christ. Baptism is offered on second and fourth weekends of each month. Private baptisms are also available upon request.

Anytime you journey into new territory, it’s best to enlist the help of guides. These people help model for you how to live and show you where to go. Parents as well as godparents, or sponsors, have the privilege and the responsibility of serving as guides, spiritual leaders for the one being baptized. These godparents can be chosen by the baptized or the parents of the one being baptized, or the church can recruit individuals to step into this role as you might need. Journeying with Jesus is best when we do it together.
