Children's Ministry
POP Kids First Look (Early Childhood):
Classroom Leader: Our Early Childhood program is divided up into 3 classes; pre-school, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten. These are “traditional Sunday school” classes. The lessons are planned, but the leader is responsible for teaching each week. This is a team teaching position– 2 adults would share the teaching responsibilities. Time commitment: 1 hour on Sunday morning, 1-2 hours prep time during the week.
Craft Team: This team will gather and prepare the needed supplies for the early childhood craft projects each week. Time commitment: 1 hour a week, most work can be done from home!
Student Leader: Junior High and Senior High students can be an assistant leader in any of our POP Kids classes, as long as there is a 5 year age difference between them and the age of the children they are serving.
POP Kids 252 (Grades 1-4):
Small Group Leaders: Children in grades 1-4 will be divided into small groups by grade. Our target is to have 6-8 students in each small group; this will enable each leader to build a great relationship with each student and their family. Very minimal outside prep is required. Time commitment: 1 hour on Sunday morning, 1/2 to 1 hour during the week.
Large Group Team: This team will present the lesson to the students each week. It will be done with drama, science experiments, role playing, any creative way we can present the lesson for the week so that the kids will remember it! Our goal is to have enough people on this team so that you would serve only 1-2 times per month. Time commitment: 1 hour on Sunday morning, 1-2 hours of prep time during the week you are serving.
Craft/Activities Team: This team will gather and prepare the supplies needed for the crafts and activities each week. Time commitment: 1/2 to 1 hour each week, most work can be done at home!
Welcoming Team: This team will greet families as they drop their children off on Sunday morning, and welcome visitors. Time commitment: 1/2 hour each Sunday morning you serve.
Café 56 (Fifth and Sixth Grade):
Small Group Leaders: Students in 5th and 6th grade are divided into P.E.A.C.E. Groups; first by age, then by gender. We need both men and women leaders—our target is to have 6-8 students in each group. Time commitment: 1 hour on Sunday morning, 1 hour prep time during the week.
Administrative:
Materials Managers: Do you like things neat and organized? This team maintains the supply closet, and makes sure we have the supplies on hand that we need for projects. Time Commitment: 2-5 hours a month– any time, day or night.
Office Helpers: Prepare weekly handouts, put together mailings, miscellaneous office tasks. Time Commitment: varies, depending on time of month. On call position.
