Outreach Pastor Recommendations Requested
Last Sunday, at a special voters assembly, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to move forward on POP’s long-range strategic plan. One of the first steps is to call a full-time Outreach Pastor to our staff. This pastor will be the leader of our church planting effort in Lake in the Hills and oversee the missions and evangelism work here at POP. The call committee needs your help in identifying possible candidates. If you know of an LCMS pastor who might be a good fit for this position, please fill out a recommendation form at the Welcome Center today.

Help Support Our Haiti Mission Trip
We are sending 16 high school students and adults to serve children in an orphanage in Haiti this summer and you can help! The children have many needs and the mission team will be able to bring these items with them. Watch for a sign-up clipboard at the Welcome Center to donate needed supplies. Items vary from food to light bulbs. Donations should be placed in the tub by the Welcome Center by Tuesday, July 8. Thank you for supporting our very first mission trip to Haiti!

Coming Soon—Feed My Starving Children Food Packing Event!!
Just a quick reminder that the Feed My Starving Children Food Packing Event will be held here at POP on Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12. If you signed up to be part of this special event but have forgotten which shift you chose, be sure to check the sign-up sheets at the Welcome Center or call the church office to confirm your shift. Thanks to all who signed up to be part of this exciting service event. We look forward to seeing you there!

Mark Your Calendars for Capital Campaign Orientation Seminar
In order to implement the newly adopted long-range strategic plan for POP, a capital campaign will be conducted this fall. The congregation is invited to attend a one-hour Capital Campaign Orientation Seminar with our fundraising consultant, Jock Ficken, from Capital Funding Services, on Sunday, July 20th at 9:15am in the sanctuary.

"Ask the Pastor" Sermon Series—You Select the Topics!!
Pastor Glover and Pastor Christenson will be preaching a very unique sermon series throughout the month of August! The series is called "Ask the Pastor," which means YOU get to select the topics of the sermons! If you have a question or topic that you would like the pastors to preach on during that series, please submit your ideas today at the Welcome Center.

Altar Flowers
The flowers decorating the altar this weekend are provided by Beth, Tod and Kay Kruse, in loving memory of Beth and Tod’s mother, Marian Martens.

Palatine Township 2008 Apple Tree Campaign
POP Mission Partner, Palatine Township, is kicking off its annual back to school program, the "Apple Tree Campaign," to collect and distribute new backpacks and school supplies to economically disadvantaged children from Palatine Township and they need your help. Check out the flyer at the Welcome Center for a list of needed supplies. Donations should be placed in the bin by the Welcome Center from Saturday, July 12 through Sunday, August 3. Please consider donating these needed supplies so that these students can begin the new school year prepared and ready to learn! What a wonderful way to serve underprivileged children right here in our own community!

Haiti Mission Trip Prayer Cards
Haiti Mission Trip Prayer Cards are available at the Welcome Center. Pick one up today and keep our students and adults in your daily prayers as they serve the Lord and spread His Word in Haiti.

Prince of Peace's Core Values

Personal Evangelism — We believe sharing our faith is most effective and best received when it happens in the context of personal relationships.
Loving Relationships — We believe in demonstrating our love in commitment and action.
Relevant Teaching — We believe God's Word is intended to be understood and applied to daily life.
Intentional Discipleship — We believe spiritual growth can and should be actively pursued by every believer.
Total Involvement — We believe the church is most effective when all members serve using their spiritual gifts.
Outward Focus — We believe the needs of people outside the church should take priority over the preferences of those inside the church.
